Code for Philly Leadership Team
Overview
Code for Philly is a fully volunteer nonprofit civic technology organization using technology and community to help Philadelphia. It's this, where you are right now!
The team
Working with our Senior Advisors (i.e. board members), the leadership team runs the organization. The current team is:
- Travis Southard; Director
- Eassa Ayoub; Leadership in Training
> We are looking to build this team! We need help with communications, event planning, and community partnerships! > Reach out to leadership@codeforphilly.org to help us fulfill the full potential of this organization!
The work
The leadership team typically volunteers about 4-6 hours a week. The work often includes:
- A weekly 30-minute call with the team
- Running our monthly Hack Nights
- Ordering pizza for ~50 volunteers
- Interfacing with our venue, Indy Hall
- Orienting volunteers and teams in the space
- Maintaining our Slack and website
- Communicating with teams and community partners to ensure they have what they need for their projects
We would like to grow the team so we can also:
- Quarterly demo nights where teams present publicly
- Plan annual events like the Launchpad Hackathon and Underserved Technologist Fellowship
- Write a newsletter to keep the community (and our volunteers) up to date on what's going on at CfP
